Abstract: | Removal of toxic Zn ions from solutions as aqueous in peel of pomegranate as adsorbent was conducted. Experiments were performed as function of pH, initial concentration, contact time, dosage, and agitation speed. Highest removal efficiency was achieved for the foregoing parameters as 50 mg/L, 6.5, 1 h, 0.25 g/100 ml, and 270 rpm, respectively. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy results proved that (-NH2) and (-OH) functional groups are the most effective on Zn adsorption. It might conclude that Zn adsorption capacity is solution pH-dependent; as Zn adsorption concentration elevated by pH increasing. Peel of pomegranate appeared as a favorable removal of toxic Zn ions from solutions as aqueous. |
