Abstract: The present paper focuses on the analysis of an important poetic phenomenon in the poems of Qabbani and Prever, which is the use of the five senses in the poetic construction of the image of women. This phenomenon manifests itself in the form of a metaphorical presence. Indeed, the senses resort to sensations which do not turn out to be of the nature of the senses. Both poets often confuse colour with the other senses of hearing and touch, and this combination reinforces the meaning of the verses and fixes them in the mind of the reader. This phenomenon was not random or fleeting, but rather an important stylistic feature that goes into most poem formulations. The plurality of correspondences, in the selected poems, unifies the description of the image of the woman. This proves that the focus on this phenomenon can be considered as an important point in this work.
