Abstract: | Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon (1977) is one of the prominent novels in the African-American literature. It revolves around signifying the importance of the black culture in the life of the black people and particularly of black women. The paper, through the myth of the flying African who escaped slavery and left his wife behind, sheds light on the significant role of black women in their community and focuses on the term womanism as it is derived from this role. |
