dc.description.abstractAs a goal in development of our industry and to elevate the level of natural resources investment in Syria, this study has been done to investigate a number of local raw ceramic materials. The investigation covered preliminary tests aiming to make use of these materials as thermal insulators in rotating furnaces of cement industry and in laboratory furnaces. Certain raw material has been selected for preparing of insulating samples in accordance to the standard German formulary (DINS1053) . the effect of some factors (firing temperature, grain size and forming pressure) on the general properties of the insulator was studied aiming to achieve the best technical environment for production.en_US
