Abstract: The study has been done in Tikrit university/ the sunshade of the Agricultural college. From Autumn 2018 to Summer 2019. Contaminated soil with heavy metals is increasing concern. The bioremediation of the soil could be focused on phytoremediation. Two types of soils have been used, the first one from Al-Mahzam/ Salah Al-Din city from a region of detonation of munitions and the second soil was from Al-Mahzam/ Salah Al-Din city but from a clean region. The study showed that Myrtus communis was very effective in phytoremediation of Ni and Pb and the plants did not show any negative effect in its morphology during the study.
