Abstract

Abstract We tried in this research to gather a scientific information at how to expand the border city of Qaim and trends of this expansion as well as the search for causes and determinants of spatial expansion and potential remaining within the administrative boundaries of the city to get benefit from them as much as possible. Then searching outside the borders of the planned foundation of the city for attractive lands can achieve the wishes of the population and development goals of the city spatially. We have adopted the inductive and scientific style, the research benefited from the style of Delphi after it has been distributing a number of questionnaires to a sample of experts to determine the appropriate alternative for the expansion of the city outside the municipal boundaries, as well as the style of simple economic costs. We have found that the city has gone through many stages in the expansion of the largest of the eighties decades. As well as the need to expand beyond the limits of the main planning borders being does not conform with population growth as well as we found most of the basic design areas are occupied. The first alternative to the south is the best chosen place to adopt the style of Delphi. The second alternative (also ranked towards the east and southeast towards the village of Saad and Al-Quneitra) has got first rank in being chosen for the adoption of the simple economic costs style.
