Abstract: Self-pollination even for a few generations can result in a considerable alteration in the genetic recital of plant population. In general, hybrid vigor tends to be more positive with higher values along with selfing generations. At the same time, there was a clear effect of self-pollination in the performance deterioration of the most parents, which contributed to the emergence of F1 progeny with a relatively high hybrid vigor. Thus, breeders should pay attention to the propagation method of the inbred lines, because continues practicing of selfing may result in a significant depression in the performance of such lines
