Abstract: | Switching power supplies offer higher efficiency than traditional linear power supplies, it’s using as step-up, step-down, and invert. The boost converters can be used as step-up converter. The boost converter describes as a time-variant system. State-space is one method to approximate the time variant system with linear continuous time-invariant system. This method uses the state space description of each time invariant system as a starting point. This paper concentrates on the regulation of the output voltage of the DC/DC boost converter and on system stability and performance. This can be achieved by tuning the parameters of PI controller. Finally, the design and simulation results are obtained for the Boost converter system to improve the system performance and to increase the system stability. In addition, the simulation results of the PI tuning controller will be discussed with internal model control (IMC) controller as a comparison. Satisfactory results are obtained through simulation by using Matlab. |
