Abstract: | ABSTRACT: The hydroelectric plants running in Iraq participate in covering a part of the peak loads and daily load with other electrical power sources (vapor power, gas power and diesel power). The research aims to give a geographical assessment of the hydroelectric plants projects of (Dukan, Samarra and Hamrin) according to site considerations and design and their reflections on the efficiency of the actual production achieved for the period (2000 - 2017) and the extent of change in the capacity factor of the plants compared to the design and the amount of participation rates in the hydroelectric power system. The variance of monthly, quarterly and annual production for the period under consideration is a prominent feature of the production of plants, which was reflected in the varying capacities and the extent of participation achieved for the hydroelectric system operating in Iraq. |
