Automatic Modeling in Building of Geographic Information Base for The Morphometric Characteristics of The Basin in Tawook Jay City in Iraq Using Geomatics Techniques

Abstract

ABSTRACT The automatic modeling concerns with building the geographic data base of the morphometric characteristics for Tawook Jay basin, north of Iraq, using geometrics group of applied lines by programming Arc G.I.S. – Arc info V.10 which is used in this research and followed by many stages to convert the Digital Elevation Models of Raster system into two layers: basins and sewage networks of valleys of Vector system to calculate the morphometric characteristic value and then giving an idea about the geographic reality through preparing a descriptive database which is connected to the map information database by the unique identified number which results in making maps and schedules. In order to prepare objective maps stating the secondary basins models according into the morphometric characteristic change which is distinguished by unlimited accuracy , credibility and high trust, the beneficiary can communicate and be active directly with them to support the decisions makers of making the right decisions to solve the geographic problems or plan to investment of its resources according the view of constant development in Tawook Jay basin. The research has concluded a number of conclusions, notably what comes: a difference in the morphometric characteristics of secondary basins and sewage networks of its valleys of Tawook Jay basin because of the different combination of factors, most notably the terrestrial infrastructure, the lack of the basin surface slope, the climate and some other factors.
