Abstract: The results of our research have been cleared that there, were some health problems for the persons after gallbladder removal(cholecystectomy),such as increase of fat, increase of weight, and other diseases because of the differences in the values concentrations of liver functions and lipid profile. This study has been conducted at AL-Ramadi Teaching Hospital in Anbar, Biochemistry Laboratory in College of Science, at the period between Nov,2nd ,2020 to May,5th ,2021. The current study was designed to evaluate and compare changes in patients before and after cholecystectomy depending on age, gender, BMI, period with liver function aspartate amino transferase (AST), alanine amino transferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) total bilirubin (TSB), gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT) and lipid profile total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL),and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL). Tests were performed on all healthy blood samples, then on patients’ blood samples after cholecystectomy at different times. The results showed that there was non-significant increasing in the age, gender, BMI, and period, a significant increase in the concentration of serum parameters for (AST,ALT,ALP,TSB,GGT,TG,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C, and VLDL-C) after comparison with control groups (p≤ 0.01). At the end of this work the points below can be concluded: Cholecystectomy causes variant alternations in serum hepatic function(liver function) and lipid profiles. Age has no effect on patient’s each of all studied parameters. It’s indicated that the rate of rise on all the studied parameters in a period of less than a year after the cholecystectomy is greater than the rate of rise on all studied parameters in periods of more than a year after the cholecystectomy. II Elevation of GGT levels can consider a characteristic feature for pre and post cholecystectomy. GGT elevation is positively associate with each of (TG, HDL,LDL and VLDL), TSB elevation associates negatively with (ALT,AST). Cholecystectomy can be a cause of NASH or NAFLD ........ . The correlation between GGT and each of (TC,TG, HDL-C,LDL-C,VLDL-C) in these patient groups were positive. There is a positive correlation between GGT and TC,TG levels in each of pre.
